  • Terrorism in the European Union – "The acts of terrorism that have either failed, been foiled or been successfully executed within the European Union (EU) have in large part been categorised by the European Police Office (Europol) as either pertaining to religious issues, right wing, left wing or separatist movements. The field is subject to considerable cooperation among national authorities." – "About Wikipedia" – Source: Wikipedia – "The Free Encyclopedia" – In multiple languages
  • Terrorism threat in Italy – "We have a family vacation planned to Italy with our two children and are due to leave next week. I've just learned that the terrorism threat in Italy has been raised to its highest level due to the country's involvement in the Libyan war and the mass immigration in the south. Does anyone have more information on this? I've read that security controls have been ramped up at airports, police helicopters are constantly patrolling overhead and even local Italians are avoiding mass transit. " – on Mar 24, 11 at 12:47am – Posted by: ziggy65 – "About Us" – Source: Found in Europe Forums on Foder's Travels – "Fodor's Travel Guides - Plan Your Trip Online"

  • Preparing For a Terrorist Attack – Keeping You and Your Family Safe  – ". . .Most Americans are too submerged in their personal technology, or in the vast amount of entertainment that is available to pay attention to situational awareness, such as preparing for a terrorist attack and keeping you and your family safe. Perhaps they are counting on the government to save them in case something like this happens again, or maybe they have already forgotten, and are back in the normalcy bias that something like that could never happen again. However, many people are beginning to wake up, as they finally begin to understand all is not right in our own country. A terrorist attack on the United States is not a matter of if it will happen, but when it will happen. But what can you do? What can you do right now to protect yourself and your family in the event something awful happened here again?  The answers aren’t easy, and you won’t have them handed to you. Unfortunately the type of people who choose to do horrific crimes against others don’t come with instruction manuals, But hopefully, this will give you a general idea of things you can do to protect yourself, family and loved ones in case of a terrorist attack." – "FREE Resources" – By  – "About Us" – Source: Survivalist Prepper – "Where Preparing is Surviving"
  • Terrorism Preparedness – "Terrorist attacks like the ones we experienced on September 11, 2001 have left many concerned about the possibility of future incidents of terrorism in the United States and their potential impact. They have raised uncertainty about what might happen next, increasing stress levels. There are things you can do to prepare for terrorist attacks and reduce the stress that you may feel now and later should another emergency arise. Taking preparatory action can reassure you and your children that you can exert a measure of control even in the face of such events." – "About Us" – Source: American Red Cross – ""

  • Take That, Terrorism! 7 Ways to Travel Without Fear – "The terrorist attacks in Paris underscore that we’re living in a world where anything can happen anywhere at any time — in a Paris theater, in a Madrid train station, in a hotel in Mumbai, at a shrine in Bangkok, in the London Tube, in a nightclub in Bali, at a running race in Boston, in a skyscraper in Manhattan…. The answer is not to stop traveling — or to avoid huge swaths of the globe out of a misperception that your risk is greater there than anyplace else. The answer is to keep traveling, to make friends around the world, and to be a thoughtful ambassador for your country. Of course, while your head may be telling you that, your gut may be apprehensive. You may be making travel plans — or trying to — and you can’t help but wonder: If I go, what is the risk that I will get caught in a terrorist incident? How do I minimize that risk? If I can’t minimize it, how do I get over my fear? I believe the solution is to put your risk in perspective. Here’s how:" – November 20, 2015 – by: Wendy Perrin.com – Source: Found in the YAHOO! PERSONAL OBSERVATION

There us no reason not to travel to Italy, Europe or anywhere in the world because of terrorism or whatever may be happening wherever you are traveling. The caveat is to exercise caution and be aware of your surroundings. My wife and I have lived in Italy for the pass 9 years and we have or I had traveled to and/or from France, the United Kingdom, Spain, the Netherlands, Germany, etc. and encountered no difficulties or crime in any of those countries. We had been in countries where there had been previous terrorist incidents but we were aware of the dangers and kept our eyes open and ears tuned to what was happening in the specific city were traveling around.  We kept ourselves aware of the surroundings and enjoyed every place we visited. Due to me developing Parkinson Disease, we did not travel as much in our later years in and around Italy or Europe but we did go out and see the sights and enjoy restaurants, museums and other places of interest.
